Das Denizen Konto war ein Geheimtipp für Globetrotter. In Österreich sehr unbekannt, aber durch das gratis Konto + gratis Mastercard + weltweite gratis Bargeldbehebung und Zahlung war es für eine bestimmte Zielgruppe mehr als interessant.
Leider kam dieses Konto so gar nicht in die Gänge und auch hier auf Gratis-Konto.at fristete das Denizen Konto ein Nischendasein.
Das Denizen Konto ist ein Konto der spanischen BBVA, welche wiederum eine Tochter der internationalen Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ist. In Europa war der Umsetzungspartner die deutsche Wirecard, welche die technische Infrastruktur mit Konto und Karte im Namen von Denizen angeboten hat.
Das aber ist alles nicht mehr, denn Denizen versandte an die Kunden eine E-Mail, dass es das Konto-Angebot mit Ende Oktober nicht mehr gibt und das Konto aufgelöst wird.
Die E-Mail an Denizen Kunden
„Dear Andreas,
We regret to inform you that Denizen will not be providing services in your country of residence, Austria, and therefore, as of 10/21/2019, we will close your Denizen account, including any underlying bank account and debit card that has been established as part of your use of the Denizen service.
You may continue using the Denizen service until sixty days from this notice, as provided in the User Agreement for Denizen Service. However, we request you to inform us on how to proceed with the remaining funds in your Denizen account prior to that date.
Please, contact our Customer Support and provide us with an IBAN for the account where you would like the remaining funds transferred before its closure. From the Denizen App, you may also choose to transfer out the remaining funds to a linked account, and request the account closure any time prior.

Selbige E-Mail kam zumindest auch an einen italienischen Denizen Kunden. Für Österreicher wird das Denizen Service bzw. Konto eingestellt.
Gibt es Denizen noch?
Ob das Service generell eingestellt wird oder sich Denizen auf spezielle Länder fokussiert ist ungewiss. Die Social Media Aktivitäten sind überschaubar, im Blog wurden gar nur zwei Einträge gemacht, der letzte stammt aus dem Monat Jänner 2018. Auf Facebook stoppten die Einträge mit Mitte Juni 2019.
Schade um diese Idee, die Konsolidierung im Bereich der kostenlosen Konten mit Karte schreitet voran, oder?
